Charles L. Miller, 92, of Huntington, died Saturday, December 12, 2009 in the VA Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary by Brother Tracy Foster and Brother Robert Hogsett. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park.
Charles was born December 9, 1917 in Turtle Creek, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Ebber and Launa Barker Miller. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carma. He was a member of the Baptist In Community Church of Huntington and was retired from Owens Illinois with 36 years of service as chief mechanic. Additionally, he served his country in the United States Army in the European Theatre during World War II. Charles is survived by three children, Linda Diane Lewis and her husband Terry of South Point, OH, Caren Lynn Miller of Huntington and Charles L. Miller of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Lisa Hogsten, Christopher, Terra, and Regina Lewis; and two great-grandsons. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
